A young start-up embedded within Georgia’s premier health policy institute had ambitious plans for cross-sector partnerships with the Atlanta establishment. ARCHI needed clear positioning and convincing messaging to establish credibility, align stakeholders, and start a movement.

As public health paradigms were pushing the traditional boundaries beyond the four walls of the doctor’s office, the Atlanta region grappled with the reality that health outcomes lagged behind the billions spent on health care.

ARCHI developed a data-driven model to prove that a bright health and economic future could coexist, but in order to resonate with big business, it had to translate complex public health policy theory into an unfamiliar structure—a plan of action.

Realizing cross-sector collaboration required code switching between purpose and profit, how would they map correlations between workforce productivity and community health goals to champion a mandate that health happens everywhere?

Silos stood tall between sectors and disparity gaps were growing wider than ever. We needed glue. When claiming (quite overtly) that “our business is your business,” what better symbol than an ampersand (&)? Perfectly glued together, meet: HEALTH&.

A diverse range of stakeholders with varied motivations needed a bold message to rally behind. If Atlanta were to unite human right with economic might, they needed a formula for change: Bottom line. Balanced health. Better beings. From there, a robust communications platform was developed to illustrate the complexity of the modern health context and ARCHI’s role to improve it.
